(((Dating in the Natural world))))

So I'm newly natural as you all can see and the topic came up today about being natural and that being a problem dating. I haven't experienced this myself but this is all so new to me. I am single (loving it!) and the thought of being rejected just because of my hair never crossed my mind. I just wonder how it even makes a difference. How many of you have come across this dating issue?

  1. I know I wear a weave, and my hair is natural underneath. It's almost 2 and a half years since I became natural. But my honey (not my boyfriend, but we're more than friends and there's a big possibility that it will become more) hates NAPPILY natural hair. he thinks it's ugly and we always have the argument on how long black women can grow their hair, and only light skinned girls, or mixed chicks, have the ability to grow hair long, or passed their shoulders. I'm soon taking my weave out, and he goes into "panic attack" every time I mention it. But it makes me think, how many men are actually like that? Once the weave is gone, will the guy be gone, too? It's interesting, though...

  2. I have come across some issues but nothing too serious...i notices i get approached A LOT more when my hair is in braids or when I'm wearing a weave. But at the end of the day, you want a guy who will love you for you, natural hair and all :)
